Healthy Recipes: Energy Balls with hemp seeds

These healthy and delicious energy balls with hemp seeds provide concentrated energy for body and mind. Whether as a healthy snack in the office or booster for in between – the energy balls are extremely versatile and the perfect companion for on the go. They are especially good before and after sports or to counteract a little midday slump in the office. With just a few ingredients you can prepare this delicious power snack quickly and easily. The special thing about our energy balls is that they contain hemp seeds.

The little powerhouses are also a healthy alternative to conventional energy bars and provide your body not only with energy, but also a lot of healthy nutrients. Did you know that hemp is a true superfood due to its unusually high nutrient density? In seed or oil form, it is rich in antioxidants, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, B vitamins and provides the body with all nine essential amino acids.

Hemp seeds are so versatile that you can easily incorporate them into your diet. These small brown seeds grow on the cannabis plant and are actually small nuts. They have an antioxidant effect and can relieve the symptoms of numerous ailments and improve heart, skin and joint health.

Ingredients for Energy Balls with hemp seeds

  • 125 g sunflower seeds
  • 130 g dried dates
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (low in oil)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch cardamom
  • 1 pinch of sea salt

Preparation of the Energy Balls with hemp seeds

Step 1
Put 125 g sunflower seeds with 2 tbsp hemp seeds in a blender and grind everything briefly to a fine flour.

Step 2
Soak the dried dates in hot water for 10 minutes.

Step 3
Add the soaked dates, 2 tablespoons of cacao powder, 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, ½ teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 pinch of cardamom, and 1 pinch of sea salt to the ground mixture in the blender and blend on high until smooth.

Step 4
Form small bite-sized balls with your hands (yields about 15-20 pieces, depending on size).

Tip:
You can coat the balls in toasted sesame seeds, coconut flakes, dried raspberries or finely chopped nuts. This healthy power snack is also a nice gift, because homemade makes much more joy than purchased gifts. Store the balls in the refrigerator. There they can be kept for up to 10 days. They are also great for freezing and defrost very quickly. So you can prepare them ahead for enjoying at a later time.

    Hello. Your recipes are simply amazing. I chose 100% vegan lifestyle 15 years ago. Unfortunately 6 years ago became allergic to seeds, nuts, oats, all fruits and vegetables that contain seeds.
