Golden Milk consists of only a few ingredients – plant based milk, turmeric, ginger and spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom or even black pepper.

The healthy drink owes its bright yellow color to the Far Eastern medicinal tuber turmeric. It belongs to the ginger family and can grow to a height of over one meter. The root, which grows in the tropical regions of Asia, tastes mildly spicy with a slightly earthy-bitter note. Dried and powdered, turmeric powder also gives curry its characteristic color. Turmeric is an ancient medicinal plant that contains many health-promoting and anti-inflammatory active ingredients. Ingredients for the Golden Milk

  • 350 ml plant milk (we recommend coconut rice milk, but almond milk or oat milk is also possible)
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric (in powder form)
  • Freshly grated ginger
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch cardamom
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 tsp coconut oil

Preparation of the Golden Milk

Step 1
Heat the plant milk in a pot and add the spices. Simmer the Golden Milk for 5-10 minutes.

Step 2
Stir 1 tsp coconut oil into the milk. If needed, pour the warm milk through a strainer. Enjoy.

Tip:
The Golden Milk can also be prepared with turmeric paste. It can be stored in a closed glass container in the refrigerator for several days. To make it, simply simmer a quarter cup of turmeric with about half a cup of water until the mixture resembles a paste. Instead of turmeric powder, you can also use fresh turmeric.
